Tutorial on how to convert OGM files into avi or whatever Options

It depends. If you're planning to use it in a music video then no but if you're planing to just watch one stream in a language because for example let's say you hjave problems with your codecs then yes.

Hmm I don't know any other programs to convert OGG because honestly I've stopped looking when I found Lamedrop XP. But I think there are other programs that can do it. I just can't tell any names.

Im just trying to re-encode the OGG file from the RahXephon movie so that I can get it into an AVI file. Ive got the audio line demuxed but I can't figure out how to use lamedropXP to convert it into MP3 so I can convert it to WAV and then rerun the audio into the video. So I was wondering what Im missing to finish this process.

aaaah I see! Well you have to open Lamedrop first and then go via my computer or explorer into the folder where the audio file is stored and then just drag the file into lamedrop. But first specify a folder in lamedrop for where it should put the converted file.

Can't you skip step 4 and only get the English audio stream, but don't save the vid again as divx. But instead open the ogm file with virtualdub and just choose the audio stream you just made? That would be a lot faster because you don't have to encode the video twice?

It could be! That's quite an interesting point but then you have to install an OGG compressor for the sound to immediatley compress the sound into the AVI container because if you don't demux and change the file(sound file that is) then you need to keep the OGG soundstream.

just need to confirm.... i just want to get the video from the file and leave the audio because im making an AMV. Do i simply disable all the audio steams?

I haven't tried that before but I think it's the most logical thing to do. But let's say that you just rip the video feed with an audio stream (any doesn't matter which one) then when you pick your clips in virtualdub you can still disable audio.

urm my pc seems to load dos applications for a split second and then it closes them off, Is there a way to bypass this with lamedrop

Which version of Windows are you running? Having you tried running it from the comand prompt directly instead of double clicking it?

not yet but it doesnt matter I got the ogm converted *I only want them converted to make music videos* oh yer and my first Teknoman music video is almost complete but is there anywhere I can upload it to? or maybe I will just start a website and store my music videos on there, but it doesnt matter about lame drop now i still thank you guys alot though!
